  • Freelancers
  • Founders
  • Company directors
  • Small business owners
  • Startups

What you get

  • Business mail receiving
  • Mail scanning

Not all addresses do the same job

Choose the address service that matches what your business needs

Registered office address

The address used for official company correspondence, where this use is permitted and the applicable requirements are met.

Director service address

An address that may be used as a director's service address where the applicable requirements are met.

Business correspondence address

An address for receiving general business post — invoices, statements, letters from suppliers and customers.

Certain uses are subject to eligibility and applicable legal requirements. We don't assume the address will qualify for every purpose — that's settled as part of choosing your service.

Step by step

How you get set up

  1. Step 1

    Choose your address service

Pick the option that matches what your business actually needs.

  2. Step 2

Create or sign into your account

  3. Step 3

    Complete verification

We'll ask for your identity and business details. It's a short step.

  4. Step 4

    Your application is reviewed

A person checks it. We'll tell you if we need anything else.

  5. Step 5

    Your address is activated

  6. Step 6

    Manage your mail

Incoming correspondence appears in your Mailroom.

Verification

Before we activate your address, we'll need to verify your identity and business details

Verification helps us keep the service safe, professional and compliant. It's a short step, you do it inside your account, and you can see where it's up to at any time.

Approval isn't automatic, and nothing is active until your application has been approved.

Renewal and cancellation

What you're signing up to

Monthly subscription

The address service is a monthly subscription. It renews monthly until cancelled, and you'll see the price and billing date before you pay.

Cancelling

You can cancel from your account at any time before your next renewal date.

When the service ends you'll need to stop using the address and update your records with any authority or organisation that holds it.

  • Effective cancellation date: We'll confirm this in writing before you pay — we'd rather tell you the actual policy than guess at one.
  • Mail handling after cancellation: Once the service ends, anything new that arrives is returned to sender. Scans already in your Mailroom stay available to you for 30 days after closure.
  • Forwarding after cancellation: We don't forward mail after cancellation — new arrivals go back to sender. Arrange forwarding or collection for anything still held before your service ends.
  • Final mail collection period: We'll confirm this in writing before you pay — we'd rather tell you the actual policy than guess at one.

Questions

Business Address FAQ

Who can use the UK Business Address service?

Eligible UK businesses and their directors — self-employed professionals, freelancers, founders, company directors, small business owners and startups. Everyone goes through verification first, and approval isn't automatic.

Is the Business Address available outside the UK?

No. The address service is currently available to eligible UK businesses only. The rest of Founder's Dock — compliance, documents and business admin — works wherever you are.

What is included in the service?

A professional UK business address and business mail receiving. Depending on the option you choose, that can also include mail scanning, a digital Mailroom inside your account, and forwarding where it's available.

Do I need to complete verification?

Yes. Before we activate your address we need to verify your identity and business details. It keeps the service safe, professional and compliant.

How long does verification take?

We'll confirm this in writing before you pay — we'd rather tell you the actual policy than guess at one. What we can say is that a person reviews every application and you'll see the status in your account throughout.

What happens when my mail arrives?

It's received and logged at the address, and you get an email telling you something has arrived. The email never contains the contents — you read it in your Mailroom.

Can my mail be scanned?

Yes, and scanning is free. Every eligible item is scanned and appears in your Mailroom, where you can read, download or archive it. Standard mail is scanned within 1 business day; Companies House and HMRC mail is treated as priority and scanned the same day.

Can my mail be forwarded?

Yes, to UK addresses. You raise the request from the item in your Mailroom, confirm the destination and authorise it. We don't forward overseas.

Are there additional charges for forwarding?

Forwarding costs £3.50 postage per item, paid when you authorise it. Nothing is posted until it's been authorised and paid. Scanning stays free either way.

How long do you keep the paper original?

30 days from the date it's scanned. During that time you can have it forwarded or arrange to collect it. After 30 days it's securely destroyed and staff confirm the destruction — your scan stays in your Mailroom.

Does the service renew automatically?

Yes. It's a monthly subscription and it renews each month until you cancel.

How do I cancel?

From your account, at any time before your next renewal date. The exact effective date and what happens to mail after cancellation are set out in the Business Address terms you'll get before you pay.

What happens to my mail after cancellation?

We'll confirm this in writing before you pay — we'd rather tell you the actual policy than guess at one. Once the service ends you'll need to stop using the address and update anyone who holds it.

Can I use the address as my registered office?

That use is possible where it's permitted and the applicable requirements are met. It isn't automatic — it depends on your circumstances and is confirmed as part of choosing your service.

Can I use the address as a director's service address?

Possibly, where the applicable requirements are met. Like registered office use, it depends on your circumstances rather than being included by default.

What types of mail can be received?

Business correspondence. We'll confirm this in writing before you pay — we'd rather tell you the actual policy than guess at one.

Are there types of mail you cannot accept?

Yes — there are limits, including on parcels and items of value. We'll confirm this in writing before you pay — we'd rather tell you the actual policy than guess at one.
