Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 August 2026

Who we are

Founder's Dock is operated by Uplifting Together Ltd, a UK company. We are the data controller for any personal data you provide when you use our service.

For privacy questions, contact us at privacy@foundersdock.com.

What data we collect

We collect the minimum data needed to run the service:

  • Account details: email address, name, and the type of account you select (solo or agency).
  • Usage data: the items you add to your dashboard, reminders, client contact notes, and settings you choose.
  • Uploaded documents: certificates, contracts, consent forms, DBS checks, insurance documents and any other files you choose to upload.
  • Payment information: handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card details or bank account numbers on our own servers. We receive a record of your subscription status, billing period and payment method type from Stripe.
  • Technical logs: error reports and basic usage logs to keep the service secure and reliable.

How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide your compliance, document and client tools.
  • Send you deadline reminders and account notifications.
  • Process your subscription through Stripe and manage billing.
  • Keep the service secure, fix bugs and prevent abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations (for example, tax or law enforcement requests).

How we store and protect your data

Your data is stored in the cloud using enterprise-grade infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest. We use role-based access controls, audit logging and regular security reviews.

We never sell your data. We only access your account information when we need to provide support, fix a problem or investigate abuse, and we only do so in line with this policy.

Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, Stripe collects your payment details directly. Founder's Dock does not see or store your full card number. Stripe's use of your payment data is governed by their own privacy policy.

Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Delete your data (the "right to be forgotten"), subject to our legal obligations.
  • Export your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Restrict or object to how we process your data in certain circumstances.
  • Withdraw consent where we rely on consent for any processing.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@foundersdock.com. We will respond within one month.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to keep it for legal, tax or regulatory reasons (for example, invoices and payment records).

Uploaded documents are removed from active storage when you delete them, or when your account is closed. Backup copies may persist for a short period but are deleted according to our retention schedule.

Cookie Policy

This is a summary. The full Cookie Policy lives on its own page.

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We group ours into three categories, and we only set the optional ones after you agree through our cookie banner.

Essential (always on)

Needed for the service to work: keeping you signed in, keeping your session secure, and remembering your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off.

Analytics (optional)

Anonymous usage statistics that tell us which parts of the app are used, so we can improve them. Not set unless you accept.

Marketing (optional)

Used only to measure whether links we share lead to sign-ups. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or behavioural tracking across other websites. Not set unless you accept.

You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. Your choice is stored on your own device, so clearing your browser data will bring the banner back.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service or the law changes. We will post the new version on this page with a revised date. If the changes are significant, we will notify you by email or through the app.
