Terms of Service
Last updated: 1 August 2026
About the service
Founder's Dock is a web-based compliance, renewal and client tracking tool operated by Uplifting Together Ltd. It helps individuals, self-employed professionals and small agencies keep track of documents, deadlines and client relationships.
These terms govern your use of the website, app and related services (together, "the service"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
What we are — and what we are not
Founder's Dock is a record-keeping and reminder tool. It is not a law firm, regulator, insurer or compliance consultant. The service does not provide legal, regulatory or professional advice.
You are responsible for ensuring your own compliance with HMRC and any regulator, licensing body or legal duty that applies to your work. We are not responsible for inspection outcomes, enforcement action or any other consequence of your compliance decisions.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and have the authority to enter into these terms. If you use the service on behalf of an agency or business, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.
You are responsible for keeping your account password secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.
Subscription and billing
Founder's Dock is a subscription service. You choose a plan when you sign up and are billed monthly or annually in advance. Annual billing is charged at the equivalent of 10 months for 12 months of access.
Prices are quoted in GBP and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. We use Stripe to process payments. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on the renewal date.
Subscriptions automatically renew unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time in your account settings or through the Stripe billing portal. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of your current billing period.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current paid period. We do not offer refunds for partial months or unused portions of an annual plan, except where required by law.
If you signed up for a paid plan accidentally, contact us within 14 days and we will do our best to resolve it fairly.
Paid plans only
Founder's Dock is a paid service from the day you start. There is no free trial and no free tier: access to add and edit your records begins when your chosen plan is paid for. If you cancel or a payment lapses, your account becomes read-only — you can still see and export your data, but you cannot add or edit items.
Acceptable use
You may use the service only for lawful purposes. You must not:
- Upload, store or share illegal, offensive, confidential-without-authority or otherwise harmful material.
- Misuse the service to track, harass or discriminate against anyone.
- Attempt to access another user's account or break the security of the service.
- Use the service in a way that could damage, disable or overburden our infrastructure.
- Reverse engineer, copy or resell the service without our written permission.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these rules.
Your data
You own the data you put into the service. You grant us a limited licence to host, process and back up that data so we can provide the service to you.
You must have the right to upload any documents or personal data you add to the service. For example, if you upload staff records, you must have a lawful basis to do so under UK GDPR.
See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle, store and delete your data.
Intellectual property
The service, its design, code, branding and content are owned by Uplifting Together Ltd. We grant you a limited, non-transferable right to use the service for your own purposes during your subscription.
Limitation of liability
We run the service with care, but we cannot guarantee it will always be available, error-free or complete. To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any loss, inspection failure, regulatory action, fine or reputational damage arising from your use of or reliance on the service.
- Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
- We are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control (for example, internet outages, Stripe downtime or third-party failures).
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or anything that cannot be excluded by law.
Changes to the service and terms
We may update the service, pricing or these terms from time to time. If we make a material change to the terms, we will notify you by email or in the app before the change takes effect. Continued use of the service after the change means you accept the new terms.
Termination
You can close your account at any time in your account settings. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these terms, if you do not pay when due, or if required to do so by law.
On closure, your data will be deleted or anonymised in line with our Privacy Policy, except where we are required to keep it for legal or accounting reasons.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
